BlackBerrys to get Wi-Fi and multimedia features?
Posted by: Bonnie Cha

A couple of days ago, plans for a new BlackBerry were uncovered, and it was said that the Stealth would have an integrated MP3 player and removable memory--two features that have never been included on a BlackBerry device. Now, Engadget Mobile is reporting that Research in Motion also plans to roll out models with other consumer-friendly features. Speaking at the C3 Expo, RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie made reference to future devices with "image capture" (read: camera), GPS, and "both Wi-Fi and cellular technology." Oh yeah, and he denied any rumors about a Palm-RIM merger.

ITS ABOUT TIME RIM DID SOMETHING LIKE THIS

I've been holding back on buying a new PDA style phone because I wanted to see what other options there were out there. And I wasn't about to buy into the Moto Q hype so fast. If there was a Blackberry with wi-fi, expandable memory, and other multimedia features I'd be much more willing to consider it as an option. Blackberry also needs to ditch that proprietary email system they have and follow the Microsoft model.
